March 2026: Movies & TV
Every other day, it seems that we're hearing or reading about a movie or a TV series being filmed in New Jersey. Hit shows like Severance on Apple TV+. Buzzy biopics like Deliver Me From Nowhere (Springsteen) and A Complete Unknown (Bob Dylan). Three Adam Sandler movies, including Happy Gilmore 2.
In Morristown alone, where New Jersey Monthly is headquartered, Steven Spielberg filmed scenes for Disclosure Day (out June 12) at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, and Paul Feig shot part of the recent thriller The Housemaid at the Madison Hotel.
More productions, movie studios and A-list directors are taking notice of New Jersey and its potential as an industry leader. Three major studios are currently in development: Netflix at Fort Monmouth, 1888 Studios in Bayonne (with Paramount as its anchor tenant), and Lionsgate in Newark.
It all started when then Governor Phil Murphy reinstated generous tax incentives to productions in 2018, and the momentum has only been growing. Read all about New Jersey’s film and television industry in this issue.
